The Lebenthal Report Episode #151: Small Biz, Big Worries

This week on The Lebenthal Report, we take a deep dive into market trends, small business confidence, and the latest fluctuations in the CEO Confidence Index with special guest Jeff Oak from Vistage. With CEO sentiment experiencing a dramatic rise in December followed by a sharp decline in February, we explore what’s driving this volatility and what it could mean for the broader economy. We also discuss the impact of government policies, job cuts, and tariffs on small businesses—the backbone of job creation in the U.S.

Exciting news! Jeff will now be joining us quarterly to provide expert analysis on the CEO Confidence Index, helping us track the evolving business landscape. Be sure to tune in to hear his next update in April!

The Lebenthal Report Episode #82: The Future of the Job Market in 2023

On this week’s Lebenthal Report we welcome Scott Passeser. Scott is one of Long Island’s most respected business leaders and is deeply connected with the Long Island business community.

Scott currently hosts Radio Jobline every Saturday afternoon from 2-3 PM and formerly hosted one of the region’s most watched business television programs, News 12 Long Island’s Jobline from 1989- 2013. Scott has been leading discussions and shaping thinking across the region for decades, while helping Long Islanders find jobs and achieve success in their careers.

Scott has been in the staffing business for over twenty five years. He also has extensive experience in the outplacement and career management fields, and is an expert on the use of social media in job hunting. Scott was so well respected in this field that he was asked by the Long Island Federation of Labor’s Consortium of Worker Education in October of 2001, to run a re-employment program for over 1,000 Long Islanders displaced by the tragic events of 9/11. Scott is a published feature writer on the subject of navigating the job market and was a career columnist for Newsday, Long Island Business News and the Wall Street Journal’s National Business Employment Weekly. Scott was also an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University and instructed students in job hunting technique and interviewing. Scott connects job hunters with employers in unique ways and, thanks to Long Island News Radio, you can speak to him any time! Join him Saturday afternoons for Radio Jobline on 103.9 FM.
